Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and hold current Registered Nurse state licensure.
  • Have experience in clinical nursing.
  • Have an additional six months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrate management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
  • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily dialysis facility operations in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Collaborate with the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and complete data collection, auditing, coding, reporting, and survey activities.
  • Coordinate short- and long-term objectives and maintain accountability for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily business operations, including center staff functions, patient care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve or exceed budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care with appropriate staff from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status, including clinical, insurance, travel, and transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Obtain clinical feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations when needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and ensure regular, effective communication.
  • Participate in the Governing Body and regional interdisciplinary teams.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support company quality standards and develop facility-specific action plans.
  • Oversee training and compliance with risk-management initiatives.
  • Ensure quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by facility staff.
  • Manage facility staff workload and schedules to ensure effective and timely execution of duties.
  • Manage staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure successful execution of new-hire orientation, training, and required in-services.
  • Maintain documentation for licensure, in-service training, and policy and procedure updates.
  • Provide training and guidance to develop staff clinical competencies and professional growth.
  • Coordinate employee benefits and Human Resources policy communications.
  • Maintain communication with Division and Corporate personnel regarding initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Use company services and products to contribute to business growth.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity, safety, and security.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of equipment, operating systems, and the facility structure.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management and approve purchase orders.
  • Ensure efficient use of medications, laboratory resources, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Contribute to facility policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Direct information gathering to support billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Supervise Charge RN and DPC staff.
  • Interact with patients, facility staff, and physicians and perform required standing, bending, and assisted patient or equipment movement.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Medical-surgical or intensive care/critical care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
