Salomon sees North american growth as Arc'teryx partners with Dick's Sporting Goods. Amer Sports sees growth for Salomon in North America and an Arc'teryx partnership for a shop-in-shop in 15 Dick's House of Sports doors to start this fall. August 18, 2026, 3:39pm North America represents growth opportunities for Amer Sports' two key brands, Arc'teryx and Salomon footwear. Amer's chief financial officer Andrew Page told investors during a Tuesday conference call after posting second quarter results that second quarter store openings for Arc'teryx include Oak Ridge Park in Vancouver and Southdale in Minnesota, bringing the total store network to 75 locations across the continent. Page said there also could be 200 doors over time across North America. In the U.S., LUXUS Alternatives, Inc. is expanding into a "new partnership with Dick's Sporting Goods where we will be entering 15 hand-selected premium House of Sports locations for fall-winter 2026," Page said. The Arc'teryx brand will be showcased in experiential shop-in-shop formats, with a particular "emphasis on the core outerwear offerings and including footwear," the CFO noted, adding that the shops are in the test-and-learn stage and that there is "potential to expand further over time." In a telephone interview, Page said the Arc'teryx partnership builds on the existing relationship Amer has with Dick's in connection with its Ball and Racquet business through Wilson 360. Page also spoke about the positive feedback from consumers on Salomon's new gravel concept. The hybrid running shoe allows for an "easier transition when you go from gravel to pavement running," he said. And while Salomon's performance running platform continues to see fast growth, Page noted that Sportstyle - introduced a few years ago featuring the "same DNA and the technical performance ability as our trail running shoes" - has been the fastest growing franchise in its footwear business, although both are still smaller than Salomon's trail business. Jie Zheng, Amer's chief executive officer, told investors on the conference call that investments to grow Salomon brand awareness and the distribution footprint are paying off, "driving strong footwear momentum across regions, channels and for both Sportstyle and the Performance products. He said global Sportstyle momentum continues, which is helping the development of Salomon's positioning "as the modern outdoor sneaker brand. The XT6 and XT Whisper franchise are resonating with a younger and more diverse adults from technical sports in the mountains to culture and the communities in the cities." Zheng also said that South Korean global superstar singer and actress Jisoo will be Salomon's new global ambassador. The Amer CEO said that while the U.S. is the largest single sneaker market in the world, it remains a "small business for us," noting that there is strong demand for the Salomon brand but very limited distribution thus far for the brand. "Today, we are seeing a clear acceleration in North America as we leverage the rising brand awareness to expand distribution with both new and existing wholesale partners as well as our own stores and e-com," Zheng said. The brand during the quarter opened its first North America flagship store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and is expanding wholesale shelf space with existing wholesale partners Nordstrom and JD Sports, and more recently starting in July, Foot Locker. As for the epicenter strategy, cities such as Paris, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and New York are driving both strong sales momentum and rising brand awareness through relevant store locations or "handpicked elevated wholesale doors." The brand is also investing in event partnerships in its epicenter cities to build lasting connections with consumers. Zheng said Miami, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston in the U.S. are the new major cities that will be part of the epicenter strategy down the road. Overseas, the new major cities in the future include Berlin and Seoul. And for Arc'teryx, Zheng said the brand had another great quarter with its footwear business, including "strong double-digit growth across regions." Arc'teryx's Norvan LD 4 trail shoes continues to be "our biggest volume driver," Zheng said. Also continuing to do well are its Konseal trekking shoes. And he said that the launch of the brand's latest version of its technical trail racing shoe, the Sylan 2, in March continues to perform well. "Looking forward, we are confident that Arc'teryx has an exciting pipeline of shoe releases for the coming years," Zheng said, adding that the brand also saw momentum in its women's apparel category. He noted that the category is growing fast and the brand awareness is rising as the company improves fit, style and function for its women's offerings. For the second quarter ended June 30, net income skyrocketed to $107.2 million from $18.2 million in the same year-ago quarter, on a 32.1 percent gain in revenue to $1.63 billion from $1.24 billion. For the second quarter in a row, Amer raised guidance for the year ending Dec. 31, 2026. It now expects revenue to grow 24 percent, with diluted earnings per share forecasted at between $1.27 to $1.30. Daily Headlines

Thrash your arc'teryx? For one week, get it washed and re-waterproofed for free. Jul 31, 2026 2:22 PM From September 21 to 25, Arcteryx is hosting a GORE-TEX Wash Week at all of its stores. Customers can bring in Arcteryx jackets and get them both washed and DWR-treated for free. The brand will then mail your jacket back to you by October 21 - just in time for cooler weather. But before you sign up, check your local stores availability. Some locations are already full and are no longer accepting appointments. GORE-TEX shells get dirty like any other garment. Oils, grime, and mystery stains inevitably appear when you use jackets, pants, or bibs through seasons of outdoor adventure. Some brands recommend washing GORE-TEX products after every 150 hours of use. Arc'teryx recommends washing its GORE-TEX products every 5 to 8 days of use and after every 10 to 20 days of use for jackets with lighter day-to-day wear. You can wash and DRW your Arcteryx GORE-TEX jackets at home on your own. But for 4 days this September, the brand will do it for you free of charge. All you have to do is sign up online, drop your dirty gear off at the Arcteryx location of your appointment, and before the end of October, your garment will arrive back at your front door, clean as a whistle and as waterproof as the day you bought it. There are some caveats, though, as not all Arcteryx GORE-TEX gear will be accepted. Arcteryx Wash Week: A Shoulder Season Spa Session for Your Gear (Photo/Erika Courtney) To get your GORE-TEX washed for free through Arcteryx Wash Week, check to see if there are any locations near you that still have available appointments. Visit the brands webpage for Community Events and scroll through your options. When you find one, select it and press Secure Your Spot. Enter some basic information, and your appointment is set. For this promotion, Arcteryx will wash and DWR treat up to two garments per customer. But it will only accept Arcteryx GORE-TEX jackets and insulated jackets - no GORE-TEX rain pants, ski pants, or bibs. If the jacket you bring has any visible signs of delamination already happening, Arcteryx told GearJunkie it will not be eligible for Wash Week. When you drop off your jacket(s), youll sign a waiver and fill out a form directing the brand where to ship the jacket once its washed and waterproofed. Then, Arcteryx does the rest. By October 21, the brand will ship it back so you can get after upcoming fall and winter adventures in a crisp, clean GORE-TEX shell. How to Wash GORE-TEX Apparel at Home The Patera Parka is also made with a Bluesign-approved GORE-TEX outer; (photo/Josh Boulton) If there arent any available appointments at an Arcteryx store near you, you can still wash and DWR treat your GORE-TEX gear yourself at home. GORE-TEX offers a guide on its website. So does Nikwax. Essentially, the process goes like this: Zip up the zippers and close all jacket pockets. Wash it with a small amount of liquid detergent at 105 degrees. Then dry your jacket on a tumble cycle. After the first dry cycle, GORE-TEX recommends tumble drying for another 20 minutes to reactivate the DWR. You can apply additional spray-on DWR after that if water still isnt beading off the GORE-TEX membrane. Some brands, like Nikwax, also offer wash-in waterproofing treatments that are added directly into the washing machine. Do not use powder detergents, fabric softeners, stain removers, or bleach on your GORE-TEX. Do not dry at a high temperature. And do not wash your GORE-TEX jacket alongside other heavily soiled garments. Free Washes All Year - But Only at Select Locations Arcteryx opened its new service center/store in Boulder on Sept. 17; (photo/Arcteryx) While September 21-25 are the only days when all Arcteryx locations will be offering washing services, the brand does offer free washes for GORE-TEX gear all year round. Any location with washing facilities allows customers to bring in Arcteryx GORE-TEX garments and get them washed free of charge. Some of these locations, like the Boulder Pearl Street Arcteryx store, also offer ReBird repair services. So, if you have a broken zipper, busting seam, or some other problem, they can fix it for you right there in the store. The Boulder Arcteryx location is currently the only store in the U.S. that has washing facilities and offers free washes for its GORE-TEX gear year-round. If you cant make the trip there but need your GORE-TEX Arcteryx gear washed before things start cooling down, check out the brands Community Events page and sign up for your Arcteryx wash week appointment.
Swiss outdoor brand Mammut purchased by CPE, investor in Pop Mart, Laopu. CPE's acquisition of the soft-shell maker marks another milestone in China's premium outdoor boom. July 31, 2026, 10:05am CPE, an alternative asset manager headquartered in Beijing, has acquired the Swiss outdoor brand Mammut Sports Group AG from European private equity firm Jacobs Capital, marking another major bet on the booming outdoor sector in the Chinese market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed and the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals. The deal is expected to close in the coming months. Founded in a Swiss village in 1862, Mammut is best known for its mountaineering apparel and climbing equipment. The company entered the mainland Chinese market in 2013 and now operates 61 physical stores. The acquisition follows reports earlier this year that Jacobs Capital was exploring a sale of Mammut at a valuation exceeding 500 million euros. Anta, which turned Salomon and Arc'teryx into its cash cows in China, was said to have engaged in preliminary discussions, according to local media reports. Jacobs Capital acquired Mammut in 2021 and said the business has undergone a significant transformation during its ownership. Annual sales have increased substantially, operating margins have doubled and markets outside Europe now account for more than half of the company's revenue, according to the firm. "We are immensely proud of the transformation Mammut has achieved over the past five years," said Philippe Jacobs, co-chairman and founder of Jacobs Capital. "Mammut is stronger than ever, and we believe CPE is the ideal partner to support the brand's continued international growth while respecting its unique Swiss DNA." Mark Mao, managing director of CPE, said: "CPE is fully committed to preserving and building upon the brand equity, technical excellence and authentic heritage that have made Mammut one of the world's most respected outdoor brands, while supporting its continued global expansion." High-end outdoor brands have been booming in China as the middle class becomes more health-conscious and incorporates outdoor aesthetics into their casual and office, wardrobes. Mammut, alongside competitors Arc'teryx and Klättermusen, is regarded as part of "the holy trinity of outdoor brands" in China. For CPE, Mammut adds to its growing portfolio of successful consumer brands, which includes Pop Mart, Laopu Gold and Mixue Ice Cream & Tea. Earlier this year, CPE also acquired a controlling stake in Burger King China. The firm established a London office earlier this year to seek out M&A targets. Newsletters
Arc'teryx to open first store in Denmark. May 29, 2026 Canadian outdoor brand Arc'teryx is set to open its first-ever store in Denmark, Copenhagen, next month as it continues to roll out its retail strategy of opening 25 to 30 new stores globally each year. Located at Pilestræde 16, the new brand store opens its doors to the public on June 11 and marks Arc'teryx's first physical presence in the Danish market. The retail location spans 443 square meters across two floors and features a ReBIRD Service Center that offers free repairs, washing, and maintenance to customers, in line with Arc'teryx's broader approach to circularity and sustainability. "Copenhagen is a world-renowned architecture and design hub, home to an authentic outdoor community that deeply values performance," said Tobia Prevedello, General Manager EMEA, in a statement. "With our first brand store in Denmark, we are creating a hub to connect directly with this community. Our mission is to support our guests year-round - not only with our highest-level technical gear, but through community-led activities and our ReBIRD Service Center to extend the life of their products and enhance their outdoor pursuits." The new store will offer Arc'teryx's core assortment, including trail, climb, and a curated selection of other technical outdoor gear, including footwear, packs, harnesses, and accessories. Later on in the year, the store will also offer the brand's snow assortment and the Veilance collection, which will be available year-round. In addition, the store will also feature a dedicated community area, where it will host events, film screenings, and workshops that include a local map showing the best spots for climbing, hiking, and trail running in and around Copenhagen. The move comes as more and more sportswear and outdoors retailers are cultivating stores that combine retail and community building. To mark the opening of its first store in Denmark, Arc'teryx will host a series of events for the local community, inviting runners, climbers, and creatives to attend. These events include a bouldering event in partnership with Bison Boulders on June 12, and a grand opening party on June 20. Arc'teryx is currently in the midst of a major retail growth phase, with plans to open between 25 and 30 new stores annually, with the long-term goal of operating between 500 and 600 branded stores worldwide. Arc'teryx currently operates more than 160 stores worldwide, and has more than 2,400 stockists. Copenhagen international expansion Sportswear Store opening
