What believers are saying

  • September 2026 MONAKA launch accelerates revenue from cloud, defense, and European sovereign AI demand.
  • May 2026 OpenAI and Anthropic partnerships strengthen Fujitsu’s enterprise AI sales motion.
  • Defense tech programs with ATLA and Lockheed Martin expand 2026 pipeline beyond traditional IT services.

What critics are saying

  • UK Post Office fallout still drives redundancies, cash injections, and blocked public-sector trust.
  • Fujitsu ends mainframes by 2035; Monaka adoption must replace a shrinking legacy revenue base.
  • If MONAKA or Uvance underdeliver by 2027, Fujitsu becomes a lower-growth services vendor.

What makes Fujitsu unique

  • September 2026 MONAKA servers target sovereign AI buyers with Japan-made hardware and software integration.
  • Fujitsu’s Uvance model now bundles consulting, AI agents, and AI platforms across industries.
  • Defense, quantum, and supercomputing capability create uncommon access to regulated enterprise workloads.

Fujitsu to sell Arm-based Monaka chip and servers to rivals from November

Fujitsu will begin selling its Monaka processors and servers in November, bringing forward plans originally targeting 2027. The Japanese company will offer the chips to cloud operators and server manufacturers. The Monaka processor features four 2nm compute dies with 36 cores each, totalling 144 cores. It uses Broadcom's 3D-chip stacking technology and Armv9 architecture, incorporating four SRAM 5nm chiplets connected by a central I/O die with DDR5 and PCIe 6.0 connectivity. Fujitsu will launch three server configurations: one-unit and two-unit models for general use, plus a two-unit variant designed for high-performance computing. The company claims the processor can handle double the inferencing output of rival CPUs. Initial sales will target Japan and Europe, with Fujitsu positioning the technology as a sovereign solution. Pricing has not been disclosed.

Fujitsu unveils world's first diamond-spin quantum computer prototype with tin-vacancy centers

Fujitsu has developed the world's first working prototype of a diamond-spin quantum computer incorporating tin-vacancy centres into photonic integrated circuits. The prototype operates at -271.6°C, higher than typical superconducting quantum computers at -273.13°C. The system can be used via Fujitsu's Hybrid Quantum Computing Platform without specialist knowledge. It represents progress towards modular quantum computing architecture due to high fidelity and efficient optical connectivity. The prototype is based on joint research started in 2020 by Fujitsu, Delft University of Technology, and QuTech. Fujitsu aims to achieve a 250 logical qubit system by fiscal 2030 and 1,000 logical qubits by fiscal 2035. The diamond-spin approach offers scalability and potential integration with superconducting quantum computers for more complex computations.

Fujitsu raises dividend and forges AI partnerships while trading 27% below target price

Fujitsu has raised its year-end dividend and announced new AI partnerships, prompting investors to reassess the stock's valuation. Shares currently trade at ¥3,591, up 16.78% over one month but down 16.66% year to date. Analyst estimates suggest a fair value of ¥4,591, implying the stock trades at approximately a 27% discount. The company's modernisation revenue grew 44% year-on-year, whilst Uvance revenue rose 52%, with Uvance now representing 29% of segment sales. This reflects Fujitsu's transition from legacy hardware to higher-margin cloud and consulting services. The stock trades at a P/E of 20.6x, above the Japanese IT industry average of 14.4x but below peers at 61.1x. The valuation case depends on international operations stabilising and sustained AI adoption.
