  • 1+ years in a Linux-based large-scale systems engineering role

  • Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (REST, load balancing, HTTP(S), authentication)
  • Designing mission critical, scalable, transparent and fault tolerant infrastructure
  • End-to-end debugging, performance tuning, and monitoring
  • Improve visibility, resiliency, security, capacity, and performance of our cloud operation
  • Build internal tools to increase engineering effectiveness and grow our DevSecOps culture
  • Build and maintain tools used for cloud management, capacity management, budgeting, forecasting, and more
  • Build and maintain tools used for managing our infrastructure as code, including how to lint, test, and safely deploy changes to it
  • Grow visibility into our platform by designing and integrating monitoring and alerting solutions, visualization solutions, and more
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure new features and functionality will be supported by our infrastructure and validate their scalability, reliability, and security requirements
  • Organize and coordinate working groups, special interest groups throughout engineering to help uplevel operational excellence
  • Apply modern open source tools and frameworks where appropriate
  • Take part in the interviewing and consideration of potential new team members
  • Provide guidance and technical mentorship to new Flockers
