Position Summary: The QA Inspector is responsible for establishing procedures and quality standards and assure proper working order. This position will conduct production line inspections to verify that required construction requirements and QA procedures and being followed.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- To be a liaison between production management/production personnel and the Third-Party monitoring agency
- Monitor the production line for non-conformances
- Monitor testing procedures of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure continued compliance with the HUD Standards and/or applicable state and national codes CCI Rotation
- Provide master DAPIA manual revisions and/or additions and update the master/production line copies, including indexes, as required
- Receive and maintain files for material specification sheets and installation requirements to assure compliance
- Work with production manager, area coordinators, and team leaders of each department on correcting non-conformances
- Audit all QA Checklists (travelers)
- Track/monitor NC & TRC citations issued by the IPIA inspectors and plant personnel
- Provide training, as needed, for certification of production team members
- Conduct CCI rotation inspections as required.
- Conduct Production line inspections to verify that required construction requirements and QA procedures are being followed.
- Verify material/lumber for specifications, listings and storage.
- Check QWA travelers in the unit files for completeness and then sign at the completion of the production process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years Quality inspection / exposure experience preferred
- Order HUD certification labels, DATA plate forms, tags identification labels, installation/homeowner manuals, etc. as needed
- Set-up standard HUD data plate templates for each model
- Complete file folder for each home
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
