Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in federal contracting environment supporting HR, Human Capital, or Benefits.
  • Experience in providing corporate HR support for compensation and benefits. Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.
  • Experience with 401(k) plan administration and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with advanced data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems.
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to senior leaders.
  • Strong customer service attitude and desire to work with employees to ensure resolution of benefits-related issues.
Responsibilities
  • Design and development of benefit programs through research of external trends, benchmarking, and best practices.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including healthcare, 401(k), recognition, and wellness programs.
  • Effectively interpret and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
  • 401(k) plan administration, vendor management, funding, compliance audits, and annual 5500 filings.
  • Partner with Payroll, Benefit TPAs, SCA administrators, Union, carriers, and Accounting to review, reconcile, and analyze payroll files, deductions, and benefit payments.
  • Drive open enrollment, employee onboarding, and employee communications.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide consultation, guidance, and education on benefits and compensation programs.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of employee benefits data and develop complex reporting alternatives.
  • Conduct financial modeling, claims utilization analysis, vendor performance reviews, and cost management reporting.
  • Monitor plan usage and provide insights into claims experience and cost drivers.
  • Work with vendors to maintain and update Benefits portal to reflect organizational changes, acquisitions, and other new business.
  • Assist with IRS and DOL compliance reporting for benefits and retirement plans.
  • Conduct job evaluations and market research to ensure competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Support salary planning cycles, compensation structures, and incentive programs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align total rewards with company strategy and business objectives.
  • Develop and deliver communication materials, presentations, and employee information packages regarding total rewards initiatives.
  • Participate in benchmark surveys to align programs with recruitment and retention goals.
  • Assist the Pricing Team with forecasting and developing health and welfare costs in support of government new business proposals.
  • Crosstrain on other benefits activities and serve as backup or lead as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification
  • Experience supporting compensation planning processes in a government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of SCA and Union benefits administration.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Payroll, Pricing, and Business Development teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
