Requirements
  • An active United States government security clearance at the Secret level or higher is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in public affairs, public relations, or a related field is required, or ten years of relevant military service may be used as related experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the team and other stakeholders is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of the organization's public-relations programs, policies, events, and activities, including correspondence, messaging, and campaigns spanning different levels of project and product management.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the Army and other services to ensure effective communications and change-readiness capabilities.
  • Provide peer review of physical and virtual promotional materials; monitor, review, approve, and submit items for public release.
  • Collaborate on and draft articles for newspapers, periodicals, and audio and visual communications media, including the Internet and outward-facing websites.
  • Create, manage, and publish engaging content in various formats across digital platforms such as websites, social media, and newsletters, ensuring consistent branding, messaging, and alignment with command priorities.
  • Review published content; monitor, listen, and respond to users; and develop and expand community-outreach efforts.
  • Provide multimedia support, including photography, videography, and basic graphic design, for public-affairs campaigns, leadership messaging, and event documentation.
  • Monitor community activities and coordinate participation in events and public forums.
  • Develop relevant content in specialized public-affairs areas, including press, radio, television, tradeshow, and community relations.
  • Develop and manage internal communications efforts, including newsletters, awards, and SharePoint content.
  • Support knowledge management and staff-action task management on behalf of the directorate.

  • DINFOS accreditation or a similar qualification is desired but not required.
  • Published articles may be requested to demonstrate experience.
