Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience building machine learning systems that run in production, including owning models end to end.
  • Deep experience in information extraction, natural language processing, document understanding, and large language models.

  • Ability to work with messy, high-stakes, real-world data where correctness matters.
  • A pragmatic approach to selecting the simplest model that works in production.
  • Experience shipping products from zero to one in startup environments and owning ambiguous problems.
  • Curiosity about the clinical domain and willingness to learn it deeply while working closely with pharmacists.
Responsibilities
  • Own the extraction and structuring of messy clinical inputs, including faxed prescriptions, prescriber directions, and benefit data, into accurate structured data for downstream pipelines.
  • Build an explainable clinical review system that performs checks for drug interactions, contraindications, dose appropriateness, and therapy appropriateness.
  • Build confidence scoring and routing to determine what is safe to automate and what requires a human in the loop.
  • Establish evaluation infrastructure, curated datasets, and production feedback loops to drive continuous accuracy improvements.
  • Select appropriate tools for each problem, including prompting and fine-tuning large language models and classical machine learning, with a focus on production reliability.
  • Partner with pharmacy operations and engineering to understand operational workflows and improve models.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Sodalis claims production use in 2026, processing tens of thousands of prescriptions weekly.
  • Gradient Ventures backing strengthens hiring, credibility, and fundraising leverage against pharmacy incumbents.
  • Usage-based pricing and four-week deployments directly align revenue with customer labor savings.

What critics are saying

  • Specialty pharmacies depend on unreliable legacy systems; integration failures delay deployments and churn customers.
  • HIPAA and PHI handling create breach liability, audit exposure, and enterprise sales friction.
  • If incumbents like Omnicell or pioneer pharmacy software vendors copy voice agents, margins collapse quickly.

What makes Sodalis unique

  • Sodalis automates pharmacy calls, texts, intake, and prior-auth workflows end-to-end.
  • It targets specialty pharmacies, where manual prescription handling still dominates operations.
  • Founders bring Apple Applied ML, Included Health, and Avella Specialty Pharmacy experience.
