Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years experience delivering successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them
  • B2B Experience. Experience building products for large businesses and working directly with their business and tech teams.
  • Technical savviness. Can manifest in different ways: a computer science undergraduate degree, hands-on software engineering experience, or experiences building complex software products side by side with engineers. Ability to get into the details of an API and understand data pipelines.
  • Attention to detail. The ability to obsess over every single part of the retailing process
  • Customer obsession. The ability to take on complex product challenges and find elegant, simplifying solutions to avoid making them our users and partner’s problems
  • Finger-tippiness with data. You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on
  • A high bar across the board — from your own contributions to the people you work with, to the products you work on
  • A true passion for Uber’s mission, our products, and the company’s hybrid technology/operations nature
  • A never-ending desire to grow and learn
  • E-Commerce, Grocery, and/or Retail Catalog and/or Inventory management Experience. You would have directly built products to support product catalogs or inventory management systems.
Responsibilities
  • defining the vision and strategy for how we tackle the problem of getting every possible piece of information from merchants into Uber from product information, availability, pricing, store location, etc.
  • define strategies for SMB’s which may be more manual, to Enterprise which may prefer a more programmatically automated approach
  • partner closely with your Ops and Marketing partners to develop communications to help internal and external stakeholders understand our product capabilities and how to use them easily
  • collaborating with program and ops teams to define a framework for which integration method is best for each merchant and what order we’ll tackle the backlog in to ensure we’re delivering the most value for Uber and merchants
  • maintaining a high-quality and healthy ingestion pipeline which requires defining the strategy for what health is
  • providing visibility into integrations and status of pipeline, detecting and alerting when issues occur, and tools and processes to quickly resolve issues when they arise

Uber connects people and goods through its global platform, offering services in ride-hailing and logistics. Users can request rides or deliveries via the app, which matches them with drivers or delivery personnel. The company operates on a commission-based model, earning revenue from ride fares, delivery fees, and service charges. What sets Uber apart from its competitors is its extensive range of services, including freight and essential goods transportation, alongside traditional ride-hailing. Uber aims to enhance safety with measures like driver background checks and real-time verification, while continuously expanding its offerings to meet diverse customer needs.
