  • A.S. or B.S Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems) preferred.
  • 2-4 years engineering work experience
  • Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Engineering knowledge/experience – marine ocean engineering preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including ability to manage data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to interpret requirements and apply logic.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and ongoing attention to detail.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiar with Solid works, Altium or equivalent drawing or schematic tools.
Responsibilities
  • Assess product characteristics and functionality to help determine the appropriate export classifications and help determine the appropriate harmonized tariff schedule.
  • Apply engineering knowledge and logic to products, assemblies and parts using US export/import control regulations, including EAR, ITAR, HTS, etc.
  • Ability to learn and apply the regulations if experience is limited.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage, delegate and enter classifications into the export control management software and its interaction with the site ERP system.
  • Monitor export/import regulation changes and review effects to existing products as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by engineering and technical management.
  • Mechanical, Electrical or Systems design work based on discipline.
  • Including 2D or 3D drawings or schematics based on discipline.
