Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical competence in linen distribution, laundry services, or environmental services is required.
  • Three years of experience as an Environmental Services worker or related supervisory experience, or a combination thereof, is required.
  • An associate degree may substitute for two years of the required experience.
Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily operational activities of the Environmental Services department or departments and ensure quality and standards are met.
  • Conduct daily rounds, sign inspection reports, and respond promptly, safely, and efficiently to service or customer requests.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and supplies, professional staff conduct and appearance, and high customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in controlling expenses and attaining financial goals for the assigned area.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reports, financial data, and statistics.
  • Manage productivity and staffing appropriate to the assigned area.
  • Demonstrate and promote the hospital's culture, values, and standards.
  • Promote teamwork within the assigned process or department and across the organization.
  • Coach and counsel associates, provide continuous performance feedback, and apply development tools to support individual growth.
  • Ensure work assignments are completed properly, safely, completely, and within the allotted time.
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms and ancillary areas, including bathrooms, public areas, corridors, and medication storage rooms, using designated chemicals and appropriate procedures.
  • Understand and comply with safety and infection-control practices.
  • Manage personnel functions, including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Assist with revising and implementing policies and procedures to meet licensing-agency requirements.
  • Assist with cross-functional and technical training programs.
  • Promote associate ownership of work processes.
  • Communicate openly with associates to support two-way communication within the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County.
