Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Two to three years of post-education experience in a procurement-focused, fast-paced, and dynamic environment is required.
  • Knowledge of Electrical SolidWorks and 3D SolidWorks is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and electrical codes is required.
  • The ability to learn new techniques and electrical standards requirements is required.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet business objectives is required.
  • Self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multitasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment is required.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and computer skills is required.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, technology, and software is required.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance for wiring instructions, electrical issues, electrical standards, and manuals.
  • Review and update electrical wiring diagrams, bills of material, and other documentation while ensuring code compliance.
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, mechanical designers, and control engineers to develop new products.
  • Assist quality inspectors in generating data tags and templates.
  • Coordinate with team members to create wiring diagrams and lay out three-dimensional electrical components in SolidWorks.
  • Review and update bills of material in the Macola system.
  • Coordinate with personnel from the Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Bill of Material, and Sales departments to meet project specifications.
  • Provide shop support and assistance to the Electrical Assembly and Testing departments with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control system testing and commissioning.
  • Understand and implement UL 1995, NFPA 70, UL 60335-1, and UL 60335-2-40 design requirements, methodologies, and practices.
  • Create electrical standards or wiring instructions for multiple units.
  • Establish data tag templates and generate data tags for every unit.
  • Create, review, and modify all electrical data in the UCA Engineering Database, product brochures, submittals, and related documentation.
  • Evaluate wiring practices and components for cost reduction and efficiency while ensuring code compliance, and follow up with ETL/MET/ETC on electrical component changes.
  • Assist field service engineers with electrical problems and recommend design modifications to eliminate unit or system malfunctions.
