Underwriting
AIG’s underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and our standard of underwriting excellence and tradition of innovation, bringing to market groundbreaking insurance solutions for our changing world. AIG’s underwriters help to find insurance solutions for risks from a range of areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients and High Net Worth individuals.
Claims
Our Claims professionals support AIG policyholders through some of the most trying times. When our clients face losses large and small, we step up to help them ease the financial burdens of catastrophic events like fires and hurricanes; we help them get their businesses back up and running again or recoup the value of a lost family heirloom or a prized possession. Our Claims team is an industry leader, drawing daily on its unparalleled levels of expertise to offer our clients the highest levels of stewardship to drive total cost of claim improvement and consistent outcomes. AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.
Investments provides advisory and asset management solutions to AIG, its business units, and third-party clients, globally.

About the role:
Joining the AIG Summer Internship is a great way to enhance your business acumen and gain insight into our industry. Summer interns are placed into meaningful roles that have an immediate and integral impact on the business. An intern’s business placement will be one that aligns with their academic background, prior experience, and career interests.
The 2023 Summer Internship Program lasts approximately 10 weeks and is targeted to students entering the final year of their degree. After orientation and training, summer interns work directly with their business area which offers a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse and global environment. In addition to the experience acquired on the job, summer interns hear from senior management, and participate in webinars, discussion forums, and networking receptions.
Upon finishing the internship, you may be considered for a full-time role in our graduate program, beginning summer of 2024.
What we’re looking for:
AIG seeks candidates who have excelled in previous work experience, demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.
We also look for a diverse background of experience, culture and thought. AIG recognizes the value in having an inclusive hiring process that includes the strengths of Neurodiverse candidates. Neurodiversity includes a wide range of cognitive differences, such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and dyscalculia.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong academic achievement (generally meeting a minimum grade point average of 3.2) (unofficial transcript required upon application)
- Candidate for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than the summer of 2024

The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.97.
