The global interoperability framework in action: DBNA and e-invoicing in the US. Key takeaways. * DBNA introduces the standardized e-invoice 4-corner exchange framework in the US, aligned with the Global Interop Framework, aimed at enhancing B2B payment efficiency. * DBNA shares building blocks with Peppol and GENA, utilizing XML in UBL syntax for invoice definition and implementing SMP version 2 and XHE envelope. * DBNA plans for a federated governance model, distinguishing itself from centralized approaches of GENA and Peppol, offering diverse participant registration options. * Axway eInvoicing integrates with DBNA, Peppol, and GENA, providing a unified platform for global, standards-driven, and efficient digital invoicing. Businesses active in the US know that for electronic invoicing, uptake is not on the same level compared to payment automation. The EDI 810 invoice syntax, a 50-year-old pre-Edifact message based on ANSI X12 standard, is still a common exchange format. And no, sending PDFs by e-mail is not what Axway Software SA consider e-invoicing. DBNA and the definition of an e-invoice interoperability framework. But also in the US there has been a demand for improved efficiency accessible to business of all sizes. Business Payments Coalitions (BPC) is an organization to promote greater adoption of electronic (B2B) payments, remittance data and invoices and was the driving initiative behind DBNA. As e-delivery infrastructure, the standard 4 corner e-Invoice Exchange Framework has been selected, which is in line with the Global Interop Framework standard (gifwork.io) as being implemented by Peppol and GENA. Compared to the European implementation and Peppol, there some differences in some technical components selected for the infrastructure, but the approach and business process is identical. The payload (i.e. the definition of the invoice), will be XML in UBL syntax. The DBNA profile is derived from PINT (Peppol International Invoice specification), so also here lots of familiarities. Also here Axway Software SA can see differences, but also in the European context Axway Software SA is used to having national specifications. DBNA governance. After successful completion of a market pilot, the Digital Business Networks Alliance (DBNAlliance) has been created as the legal entity to oversee the new electronic exchange network. As the oversight entity, the DBNA is responsible for defining policies, standards, security mechanisms, and other rules and guidelines that make up the exchange framework. The DBNA also offers membership to service provider access points and assists them with connecting to the exchange framework. Axway eInvoicing and DBNA. Axway, being heavily involved in GENA and GIF as well as being an early adopter of Peppol services, can help your organization to onboard to DBNA. Axway eInvoicing also provides support for virtual access points, being used by other service providers. For Axway customers, this means a single connection opens access to all networks. Axway eInvoicing acts as a bridge between the networks, translating addressing as well as document syntaxes to the different regional requirements. Interop 2.0 @ Axway. Besides being an early adopter of Peppol and for GENA having defined the interop standard, Axway Software SA has now added support for DBNA. Axway Software SA could focus on the differences between these implementations, but in fact it is the similarities that make it a scalable and viable framework standard. Axway eInvoicing lets you handle invoicing in a way that's global, standards-driven, and always up to date, whatever the country. It offers efficiency and cost advantages to companies everywhere by making invoicing 100% digital. And by adding it to Axway B2B Integration, you'll be able to engage with partners securely, streamline EDI and API flows, and leverage value-added services beyond e-Invoicing such as PEPPOL, API management, and API-driven VAN. Discover 6 awesome things you can do with Axway eInvoicing.
Axway positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide API Management 2026 Vendor Assessment. SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Axway, a 74Software company (Euronext: 74SW) and global leader in federated API management and enterprise integration, has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide API Management 2026 Vendor Assessment.[1] "As organizations embrace AI and become AI-enabled ecosystems, what determines value is not the model itself, but how intelligence flows through the business and contributes to the company goals." - Meetesh Patel, Chief Product Officer at Axway Share Axway Amplify securely connects, orchestrates, and automates data integration. Organizations in financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, and other industries rely on Amplify to modernize integrations and confidently unlock data to deliver superior digital services faster. The report notes: "The platform benefits from Axway's long-standing experience in B2B integration, secure file transfer, and legacy connectivity, providing differentiated capabilities for organizations that need to expose and control APIs around core systems that are not cloud-native."[1] This multi-pattern expertise in security, integration, and federated governance - built during the early phases of the API-driven digital transformation - becomes especially critical as enterprises seek to govern data exchange in this new era of AI. B3, one of the world's leading financial market infrastructure companies in the stock exchange sector, relies on Axway to keep its ecosystem secure, governed, and ready for what's next. "Axway solutions are at the core of our company. We manage APIs across all critical platforms with Amplify, and Axway MFT keeps our data moving securely and efficiently," says Rodrigo Nardoni, CIO at B3. "As we look ahead, strengthening API management and governance is key, especially with the rise of AI and the exponential growth it will drive. Axway empowers us with intelligent governance that fosters innovation, not bottlenecks, giving us freedom to grow with control, security, and accurate insights," Nardoni concludes. "Today's organizations face growing strain as siloed API gateways, fragmented hybrid environments, and disconnected security governance are hindering the speed that modern automation and AI demand," says Mourad Jaakou, General Manager, Amplify Platform at Axway. "An API-only approach will not fully solve the challenge. We built Amplify Fusion to close the gap." A key module within the Amplify solution, Fusion extends its promise of a secure foundation, transforming fragmented systems into real-time, governed data flows that power intelligent automation and frictionless orchestration. From the IDC MarketScape Axway Excerpt: "Organizations should also consider Axway if they are seeking to prepare their data and capabilities for AI enablement and are looking to safely expose and govern APIs from core systems so they can be consumed by LLM-based applications and agents, especially where the ability to bridge legacy integration and modern API programs is viewed as a strategic requirement."[1] "As organizations embrace AI and become AI-enabled ecosystems, what determines value is not the model itself, but how intelligence flows through the business and contributes to the company goals," says Meetesh Patel, Chief Product Officer at Axway. "Amplify Fusion provides the structure, control, and orchestration to make that flow seamless, secure, and business-aligned." 10th nomination as a Leader in the 2025 gartner(r) Magic Quadrant(TM) for API Management for Axway. The 29 October 2025 Axway recognised for "Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute" for their API Management offering. Axway, a 74Software company (Euronext: 74SW), a global leader in federated API management and enterprise integration, is recognised by Gartner as a Leader in the 2025 Magic Quadrant(TM) for API Management - marking the 10th time the company has been positioned as a Leader in the report. AI is transforming API management by automating complex tasks, enhancing security through real-time threat detection, optimising performance with predictive analytics, and improving the developer experience via automated documentation and testing. This enables API management to be proactive, intelligent, and automated. Nevertheless, AI-driven integration creates challenges and security risks by making it hard to track and secure APIs. Based on specific criteria that analysed the company's overall Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute, Gartner's evaluation highlights the strength of Axway's Amplify API Management offering and its ability to address the growing challenges of API sprawl, governance, and AI-driven integration. In companion research issued by Gartner, Critical Capabilities for API Management, Axway received the highest score (3.6 out of 5.0) for the Distributed API Management Use Case for the third consecutive year. For Roland Royer, CEO at Axway, convergence is key today as the market demands high flexibility and control. He asserted: "This is the tenth time Axway is named a Leader in this report. For us, this feels like a strong validation of Axway's vision and consistent ability to deliver. We feel Amplify has become the enterprise control plane that brings security, governance, and intelligence to distributed ecosystems - ensuring enterprises can modernise with confidence and prepare for AI at scale." The Amplify Platform was selected by several companies (Boehringer Ingelheim, Bosch,...) to enable their services with a strong distributed approach to API management: "With Amplify Engage, we gain federated API management capabilities, whether APIs are on the Amplify API Management platform, AWS, or any other cloud." Ariel Atili, Head of IT EDP API Enablement at Boehringer Ingelheim. Amplify API Management helps enterprises build secure, scalable, and intelligent ecosystems with APIs that connect everything. The platform's distributed foundation underpins the broader Amplify ecosystem: * Amplify API Gateway secures and manages APIs at scale, enforcing enterprise-grade policies, protecting data, and ensuring reliable performance across distributed environments. * Amplify Engage empowers organisations to expose, manage, and monetise APIs securely, driving reuse and new growth opportunities. * Amplify Fusion is a multi-pattern integration platform that unifies legacy systems, SaaS applications, APIs, and event-driven architectures into a governed layer delivering agility, visibility, and scale. * Amplify AI Gateway extends governance into AI interactions, enabling enterprises to safely bring AI models, MCP servers, and agents into business workflows with enterprise-grade security and governance. Mourad Jaakou, General Manager of Amplify Platform at Axway, commented: "As AI reshapes how enterprises operate, the ability to govern APIs and AI assets together is becoming a board-level priority. Amplify is designed to help enterprises build on what works today while safely embracing new AI-driven capabilities with speed, intelligence, and control." Magic Quadrant reports are a culmination of rigorous, fact-based research in specific markets, providing a wide-angle view of the relative positions of providers in markets where growth is high and provider differentiation is distinct. Providers are positioned into four quadrants: Leaders, Challengers, Visionaries and Niche Players.
