About the Role:
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Analytics & Planning, this role will be responsible for executing on Dow Jones’ next-gen approach to marketing data science, analytics and technology, in support of our direct to consumer propositions. This seasoned data science professional will be responsible for building and driving data driven strategies utilizing advanced analytics and insights, optimizing performance through Dynamic Pricing, improving customer segmentation and retention, and enhancing overall marketing effectiveness.
You Will:
Designs of experiments and Forecasting: Build designs of experiments to test price sensitivities across different price points and channels to measure customer behavior, such as churn, lifetime value, price sensitivity and purchase propensity to fuel Automated Pricing models. Establish media attribution and measurement.
Data Infrastructure and Technology: Collaborate with data engineering teams to establish and maintain robust data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and security. Evaluate and implement appropriate data science tools, platforms, and technologies to streamline processes and enhance data-driven marketing and Automated Pricing capabilities.
Data-driven Marketing Strategies: Utilize advanced analytics techniques to analyze large volumes of customer data, including demographic information, transactional data, online behavior, and social media data. Derive actionable insights to optimize marketing strategies, improve customer targeting, and personalize marketing campaigns.
Customer Segmentation: Develop sophisticated customer segmentation models based on behavioral, attitudinal, and demographic variables. Collaborate with marketing teams to leverage these segments for personalized and Automated marketing campaigns, customer retention initiatives, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and finance, to understand their business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions. Present insights and recommendations to senior executives and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
You Have:
7+ years experience in Data Science, strategy, data, marketing, and/or general management preferred
Degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
Extensive experience in marketing analytics, data science, or a related field. Experience of overseeing Media pricing analytics strategy with a focus on subscriptions is a plus.
Strong expertise in advanced analytics, data mining, forecasting, and predictive analytics.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, along with experience in working with large-scale databases and data manipulation.
Deep understanding of marketing principles, customer segmentation strategies, and digital marketing channels.
Strong business acumen and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and digital analytics tools is a plus
