Requirements
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer network security.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or cyber defense engineering and management.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • Ability to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
  • Ability to frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science.
  • An active or current Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Review testing and validation to ensure system functionality and compliance with security standards.
  • Develop technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in engineering reviews, audits, and program milestone meetings.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Assist PARMs in obtaining Authority to Operate for aircraft carrier systems.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on the cybersecurity of aircraft carrier systems.
  • Provide technical support for systems engineering design, network architecture, and system security development supporting platform-based network integration, information technology, and communications for cybersecurity.
  • Support cybersecurity efforts involving system security requirements, risk assessments, systems analysis, systems design, cybersecurity testing and evaluation, and assessment and authorization.
  • Provide cybersecurity Risk Management Framework support.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert validating implementation of cybersecurity requirements across devices, subsystems, systems, enclaves, and platforms.
  • Recommend system-hardening solutions to improve operational survivability and resilience against mission risk.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and support the integration of testing and evaluation into cybersecurity specifications and requirements for ship design.
  • Support the phasing and fielding of cybersecurity solutions through planned integration of cyber-related architectural features and tools that protect system and network confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
