Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or a closely related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities
  • Reviews plans to identify potential violations.
  • Documents inspections and reports on any issues.
  • Determines the quality of materials being used through testing.
  • Determines whether construction work is being done safely and in conformance with approved applications, plans, and specifications.
  • Attends meetings when necessary.
  • Conducts field inspections to inspect standards of structures and materials.
  • Issues violation notices and stop-work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
  • Refers deviations or disagreements to the engineer in charge for clarification.
  • Maintains records of documentation.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications.
  • Communicates with clients, contractors, supervisors, and other inspectors regarding specifications and qualification test results and site progress.
  • Maintains field notes.
  • Prepares daily reports including description of contractor work activities, labor and equipment identification and quantity.
  • Gather data and measurements to be used in the completion of checklists and quality assurance of various activities.
  • Recommend approval of the work inspected in compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Other related duties as required and assigned.
