Requirements
  • Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor’s degree or through equitable industry experience.
  • 10 plus years minimum experience plant operations and technical skills.
  • Experience in value added and further processing a plus.
  • Having experience in all proteins: beef, pork, and chicken desired.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • This position is responsible for managing multiple groups of personnel who perform dissimilar tasks and activities in several different departments.
  • 12 plus trips per year.
Responsibilities
  • Providing leadership direction in establishing a safe environment and a Good Neighbor policy with the community.
  • Coordinating production units to achieve company-wide and individual complex goals with a minimum amount of waste or rework.
  • Establishing complex objectives and identifying the requirements to meet production needs.
  • Providing direction and assisting in the development of managers that can be promoted to higher levels of responsibility.
  • Ensuring company personnel and benefit policies are implemented properly.
  • Evaluating various capital projects submitted by management to determine their feasibility.
  • Approving all new hires and overseeing personnel salaries and wages.
  • Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
  • This position is also responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality.
