Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on union relations and labor negotiations
  • Experience supporting a union environment is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations, including the NLRA
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Age 21 or over (Industry Requirement)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Industry Requirement)
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID (Industry Requirement)
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the labor union
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives
  • Lead and participate in union negotiations, contract renewals, and dispute resolution
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers in resolving workplace issues and conflicts
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead and facilitate change
  • Conduct investigations as necessary and recommend appropriate actions
  • Develop and implement employee relations programs and initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local labor laws and ensure company policies and practices are in compliance
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the HR team to facilitate the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees
  • Assist in the performance appraisal process and provide guidance on performance improvement plans
  • Collect and analyze HR data to identify trends and provide insights to improve HR processes and practices
  • Prepare regular reports on HR metrics for management
  • Other duties as assigned
