Language & Literacy Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking a gentle and inspiring Language & Literacy Teacher to support early reading and writing development for two children aged 4 and 6. In this in-person role in the Presidio, San Francisco, you will design engaging activities that build phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Guide phonics, letter recognition, and emerging reading comprehension

• Support early writing skills through journaling, storytelling, and handwriting

• Foster expressive language through books, songs, and conversations

• Use varied instructional techniques to support different literacy stages

• Monitor and share progress with caregivers in a supportive manner
  

Requirements

• Around 3+ years of experience in early childhood or literacy-focused teaching

• Background in education, reading instruction, or speech/language development

• Experience with phonics-based and/or whole language methods

• Calm, engaging presence with excellent communication skills

• In-person availability in the Presidio, San Francisco

• Authorized to work in the United States
  

Schedule & Pay

• Time Commitment: 1 hour/day, Monday–Friday

• Schedule: Flexible between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• Pay: $75/hour

• Start: Flexible, ideally in the next few weeks
