JOB TITLE:
Part Time Office/Lab Assistant, COIFPM
JOB PURPOSE:
Perform basic, entry-level, routine laboratory/research tasks and clerical duties for the Center of Innovation for Flow through Porous Media (COIFPM) on a part-time basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform technical laboratory and/or research tasks;
- Conduct laboratory preparation tasks under limited supervision;
- Secure, record and process data and materials relating to tests and experiments;
- Data entry for updating inventory records;
- Assisting with inventory organization and asset management;
- Perform basic records maintenance;
- May be responsible for and supervise others in laboratory preparation, proper storage and disposal of chemicals or biohazards;
- May assist employees in research projects and experiments;
- May sort mail, assist with bulk mailing projects; sort, deliver or pick up printed matter for distribution
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: None
- Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of basic lab processes
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Able to handle highly confidential materials and information
- UW Safety Training or ability to complete at time of hire

WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
