Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Four years of human resources experience are required, including at least three years at a higher level directly related to employee or labor relations, organizational consulting, recruitment, compensation, and/or benefits administration.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing proficiency sufficient to perform essential job functions is required.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and legislation are required.
  • The ability to apply change management practices is required.
  • The ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data and make sound recommendations is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform human resources responsibilities at the subject matter expert level and provide direct support to assigned business units and clients.
  • Participate in employee-relations activities, including conflict resolution, counseling managers and staff, and conducting follow-up, exit, and focus-group interviews.
  • Coach, train, and guide client managers and staff on employee relations, policies, procedures, benefits, compensation, job-description development, payroll, turnover, employee satisfaction, performance management, conflict resolution, and legal issues.
  • Collaborate with human resources colleagues across the system on system initiatives.
  • Consult with management to assess performance-improvement needs and develop associated action plans.
  • Develop and execute strategies with human resources and operations leadership to support business objectives, retention, employee satisfaction, and strategic goals.
  • Participate in client department meetings, provide human resources updates, identify opportunities, and develop solutions for human resources interventions.
  • Support workforce planning, monitor turnover and time-to-fill trends, and partner with recruitment colleagues and management to address staffing challenges.
  • Participate in recruitment endeavors when needed.
  • Deliver training related to new-employee orientation, management education, and supervisor-skills development.
  • Interpret human resources policies and procedures, recommend policy and process improvements, develop policies and procedures when needed, and educate employees and managers about new policies.
  • Conduct investigations involving Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charges, business-practice complaints, and Texas Workforce unemployment claims; recommend options and prepare summary reports.
  • Gather and interpret workforce data, prepare summary reports, and develop strategies to improve human resources metrics.
  • Explain compensation policies and recommendations to management and participate in compensation activities, including job-description development, compensation analysis, and recommendation development.
  • Advise management on compensation-related issues and difficult compensation conversations.
  • Support change-management initiatives and help develop and implement change-management strategies.
  • Mentor peers and provide training and guidance to other human resources team members as appropriate.
  • Manage time and prioritize daily tasks while using resources efficiently.

  • SPHR, Senior Professional in Human Resources, certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute.
  • SHRM-CP, Certified Professional in Human Resources, certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.
  • SHRM-SCP, Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources, certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.
