What believers are saying

  • Q2 FY27 revenue hit $508.4 million, beating estimates and lifting guidance on Sept. 3, 2026.
  • The company added 242 $100,000-plus ARR customers and 20 $1 million-plus customers.
  • AI feature adoption rose fourfold in two months, validating Samsara's new safety and dispatch agents.

What critics are saying

  • Motive's February 2026 ITC victory killed Samsara's import-ban bid and weakened its patent leverage.
  • CEO Sanjit Biswas sold $5.4 million on August 18, 2026, then kept selling through August.
  • A single platform outage or security breach would damage trust across fleets and public-sector customers.

What makes Samsara unique

  • Samsara's 30% ARR growth to $2.125 billion on Sept. 3, 2026 proves platform pull.
  • Its Fuel Command Center unifies telematics, fuel cards, routing, and fraud controls in one workflow.
  • Large customers deepen fast: 96% of $100,000-plus ARR accounts use at least two products.

Samsara report finds 10% of drivers account for 47% of crashes

Samsara has released research showing that the top 10% of risk-ranked drivers account for 47% of crashes, whilst the top 30% account for 76%. The findings are based on Samsara's patent-pending Risk Model, which evaluates approximately 50 factors including driving behaviour, exposure, context and driver development. The research found that risk compounds when behaviours appear together. Drivers exhibiting mobile use alone are 2.7 times more likely to fall into the highest risk tier, rising to 5.4 times when combined with distraction and harsh braking. The model powers Coaching Priority, Samsara's AI feature for surfacing coaching opportunities across fleets. The research is based on aggregated data from July to December 2025.
