Requirements
  • PhD in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical (AMO) physics with expertise in quantum computing with trapped ions or neutral atoms.
  • 5+ years post-PhD experience working in industry or national labs.
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications in journals.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the hardware architecture of our next generation quantum computers.
  • Lead the subsystem development and integration by collaborating with the engineering and software teams.
  • Measure and analyze data on the performance of a trapped ion quantum computer.
  • Mentor physicists and engineers in taking assembled hardware from the initial stages of ion trapping to coherent gate operations.
