Requirements
  • You must be a qualified, registered social worker and have completed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
  • You must have evidence of two years of continued professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
  • You must have an in-depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
  • You must be able to make clear decisions and highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
  • You must hold a valid driving licence and have access to personal transport.
  • You must provide a supporting statement answering the three specified questions and confirm which post you are applying for.
  • Relevant posts require Disclosure and Barring Service checks or police vetting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage your own complex caseload and support colleagues with theirs.
  • Provide specialist advice and enable the mitigation of high levels of risk.
  • Contribute professional expertise to the development of practice standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with partners, other agencies, and the voluntary sector to deliver improved outcomes.
  • Provide personalised support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism to help them achieve their goals and thrive in their community.
  • Support transitions such as helping a young person move from hospital to their first home.
  • Create tailored reablement plans that connect individuals with their local community.
  • Carry out statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act 1983, as amended in 2007, where applicable.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and maintain registration with Social Work England.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to mentor newly qualified and experienced team members.
  • Significant experience of social work, modelling good practice, and providing advice and guidance in complex situations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
