Requirements
  • A two-year degree or equivalent.
  • At least one year of manufacturing technical experience demonstrating a self-starting and hands-on approach.
  • Ability to quickly learn Lean principles, including Value Stream Transformation (Mapping), Just-in-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, and Toyota Production System methodologies.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other support areas.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial measurements and goals, along with analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills to present division performance, initiatives, and improvement opportunities to cross-functional teams and leadership.
Responsibilities
  • Support and lead Lean initiatives within the company.
  • Organize associates in continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste across office, factory, and support functions.
  • Measure and report ongoing progress of continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead Kaizen events and contribute to improvement activities.
  • Lead and guide plant-level Lean initiatives using Lean tools and metrics.
  • Work with plant-level management on Lean process projects.
  • Assist in developing a plant-wide Lean strategy.
  • Coordinate individual initiatives throughout the company and train associates to continually eliminate waste.
  • Assist support functions in implementing Lean principles, techniques, and methodologies according to Toyota Production System methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, Cellular Manufacturing, Kanban Pull Systems, Quick Changeover, design for Lean, one-piece flow, inventory reduction, SMED, and Kaizen events.
  • Develop and regulate the Lean Road Map and prioritize implementation and results.
  • Provide support for change management and optimization when implementing the Lean Road Map.
  • Serve as a resource for successful and sustained Lean implementation.
  • Provide technical and operational recommendations to meet material control, product quality, and customer service goals.
  • Support coaching and teaching of Lean principles.
  • Review existing policy and procedure documentation to understand the current culture.
  • Work with all operating disciplines using value stream management to develop a master plan for meeting Lean goals.
