Requirements
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Working knowledge of internet-based tools, spreadsheet and word processing software, and order processing systems is required.
  • Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, are required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to ensure accurate tracking of ordering and production information.
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required.

Responsibilities
  • Order materials and supplies efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery prior to scheduled installation.
  • Coordinate with vendors to determine product availability, pricing, and terms of sale.
  • Analyze product and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
  • Participate in developing specifications for products or substitute materials.
  • Coordinate homebuyer material approvals with Design when applicable.
  • Ensure samples are available for designers and customers when applicable.
  • Organize and schedule material returns with suppliers as needed.
  • Use enterprise resource planning systems to place orders, track materials, gather information, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Run, address, and complete daily purchasing and material reports.
  • Complete required daily activities accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
  • Handle higher-volume locations and complex purchasing activity as applicable.
  • Make informed decisions related to purchasing activities and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on purchasing or material issues and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Act as a subject matter and material expert when handling escalated purchasing issues.
  • Take on special projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with and conduct training for Purchasing Associates as needed.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Design, Operations, and Field partners.
  • Follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Take responsibility for actions and keep commitments.
  • Complete tasks on time or notify appropriate parties with alternative plans of action.
  • Work extended schedules when necessary to meet business goals.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • One or more years of related purchasing, materials, or supply chain experience; higher levels of experience support increased responsibility.
  • Material resource planning or production control experience with Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP).
  • Thorough knowledge of products used by the company as they relate to product installation.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Interior Logic Group, Inc. and Interior Specialists, Inc. announced a merger to form the largest interior finish services company in the US, with $1.5 billion in revenue. The new company, headquartered in Irvine, CA, will have over 4,300 employees and 225 locations. Alan Davenport will be President & CEO, and Mark Fikse will be Executive VP. The merger, backed by Littlejohn & Co. and Platinum Equity, is expected to close in Q2 2018, with Bank of America Merrill Lynch arranging debt financing.
