Requirements
  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture, such as a B.Arch, M.Arch, and/or D.Arch, or a Canadian or international equivalent.
  • Architectural license in good standing within the applicant's home state, with ability for reciprocal licensure through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of International Building Codes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
  • History of successful cross-discipline project coordination and execution on a variety of project types.
  • Ability to develop or guide development of a complete set of construction documents and specifications for complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Relevant experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
  • 15 years of professional experience.
Responsibilities
  • Work independently on projects and execute all phases of design, including programming, planning, concept development, detailed design, and construction administration.
  • Generate complex code analyses, life safety and egress plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications for large, highly complex projects without oversight.
  • Develop and generate studies, presentations, and reports, and present them to internal or external audiences.
  • Research and apply the International Building Code and other regulatory requirements during project delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction personnel to develop coordinated and constructible designs.
  • Participate and contribute during drawing reviews, coordination meetings, and quality checks.
  • Assist the project manager with resource planning, budget and scope definition, schedule adherence, and overall deliverable quality.
  • Conduct quality checks of documents for complex projects, including technical verification of design calculations, documentation, and design approaches, and drive overall project quality.
  • Identify and resolve complex code, construction, and design challenges.
  • Develop advanced architectural design and technical training presentations.
  • Provide mentorship to architectural staff.
  • Act as Architect of Record for project assignments, including possible corporate licensure responsibilities.
