Requirements
Associate or bachelor’s degree in social service or related field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in related field
Experience in administrative work is preferred
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Valid NY driver's license

Responsibilities
Assist with the administration and coordination of all daily social service ministry activities, including soup kitchen, food pantry, volunteers, and community service worker projects.
Keep the front office and storage spaces organized and free of clutter.
Ensure coverage of the front desk and management of the office. Ensure telephones are always covered during work hours.
Organize and maintain accurate hardcopy and electronic files.
Assist in maintaining records, etc. according to organization policy.
Document all case records in compliance with Agency and contract requirements.
Responsible for acquisition and data collection for monthly statistics.
Give an oversight into the storage of food and donations.
Advocate and initiate the process for cases requiring referral to other resources.
Supervise volunteers — teaching basic job skills.
Complete the required training when necessary.
Attend and participate in Agency meetings as requested by Corps Officers.
Must be able to represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual ministry and social mission in all spheres of influence.
Confidentiality is essential for this position. Breaching said confidentiality will result in immediate termination of services without further warning.
It should be noted that the above duties are essential functions of the position but other duties necessary to the overall enhancement of The Salvation Army services may be required.
Provide clients with available social services as well as spiritual assistance, including access to resources, programs, worship opportunities, and referrals to Corps Officers (who are ordained ministers of The Salvation Army) for further spiritual counseling.

Overview
To provide a welcoming and helpful atmosphere to those seeking information or assistance from The Salvation Army.
To follow policies and procedures, work with Corps Officer(s) to coordinate aspects of the food pantry and donations, and to record, track, and report statistical data on time.
To supervise volunteers and coordinate all social service ministries.
Render case management services to clients recognizing their physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs – making full use of agencies and community resources under the direction of the Corps Officer(s).
Assist, coordinate, and promote seasonal programs and events as well as in any Salvation Army program application process- Summer Camp, Vacation Bible School, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and any other programs as needed.
