Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance or other health-related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle patient registration.
  • Proficient in revenue cycle functions across multiple payers and multiple billing and patient record systems.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, verifications and Federal and State compliance regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple active initiatives, meet time-sensitive deadlines and organize workload with general supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products and ability to learn other applications proficiently.
  • Effective critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills, as well as experience in public speaking, teaching, adult learning principles and conflict resolution.
  • Must be detail oriented and thorough with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members.
  • Interpret and analyze data, trends and produce reports as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose clear and accurate routine and non-routine correspondence.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated. Team oriented with strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
  • Inspires the trust and respect of the team as he/she consistently displays the core values of Halifax Health. Listens to team member feedback and resolves and/or communicates issues or conflicts. Create an inspiring environment with an open communication culture.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to improve data quality and compliance among staff. Presents classroom courses during new team member onboarding.
  • Oversee competency assessment and skill checklist.
  • Document training session performance, competencies and provide real-time feedback to the trainee.
  • Log individual training sessions in the time and attendance system.
  • Provide training progress feedback to trainee, Patient Access Data Integrity Coordinator and trainee Manager and/or direct supervisor.
  • Verify the accuracy of patient information, insurance data, and billing codes to prevent errors in claims.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues related to billing, claims, and collections.
  • Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Prepare reports on data integrity to share with management.
  • Protect sensitive patient data from unauthorized access and breaches, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay current on relevant regulations and guidelines related to healthcare billing, insurance, and data privacy.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data integrity activities and resolutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with billing, claims or clearinghouse with demonstrated training skills preferred.
  • Proficiency with Epic preferred.

March 24, 2026 at 1:09 PM The NASCAR Foundation welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors, including businesswoman and philanthropist Amy Lea France and former Halifax Health Executive Director Joe Petrock. "Amy Lea France and Joe Petrock are wonderful additions to the NASCAR Foundation Board," said Mike Helton, Chairman of the Board, The NASCAR Foundation. "Both bring unique perspectives and a shared passion for the sport, the community and supporting the health and quality of life for children and their families. Their leadership and expertise will help us continue to expand the reach and impact of our programs." Amy Lea France, a longtime advocate for charitable initiatives, brings a deep connection to NASCAR and a passion for community service. Through her philanthropic work, she has supported numerous programs focused on children's health, education, and family well-being. Her experience and dedication to service will help guide the Foundation as it continues to grow its mission and outreach. France previously served and supported numerous local and national charities, including Easter Seals, Halifax Humane Society, Straight Up Soldier Foundation, United Abolitionists, Ronald McDonald House, Clean the World, American Heart Association, and Michael J. Fox Foundation. Her role as a businesswoman across multiple organizations along with her longstanding roots in racing make her a natural addition to The NASCAR Foundation. Joe Petrock served as Executive Director at Halifax Health, where he played a key role in advancing patient care initiatives and community health programs. With extensive experience in healthcare leadership and nonprofit collaboration, Petrock offers valuable insight into strengthening partnerships that benefit children and families served by The NASCAR Foundation.
