Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area of study/interest
  • 7+ years of experience in exhibition design and production
  • Strong team player with positive work ethic and commitment to building positive work relationships
  • Firm knowledge of and experience working with typography
  • Total fluency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Vectorworks, Sketch-up and CAD Tools
  • Highly motivated, organized, proactive, enthusiastic and resourceful
  • Comfortable managing multiple and diverse projects at once
Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with the in-house Exhibition team and other Senior team leads to create building activations for major sale series campaigns and standalone sale events
  • Seeing multiple projects through from initial brief to completion including research, concept development, visual mock-ups, and overseeing final builds and installation
  • Presenting designs and ideas to relevant stakeholders within the business, including senior management
  • Estimating projects and managing contracts with relevant suppliers
  • Meeting and co-working with the London Exhibition Design studio to implement the evolving layout and visual display of Sotheby’s locations
  • Extending the premium aesthetic of the brand to all client-facing areas and elements
  • Overseeing design of Sotheby’s salesrooms for select auctions throughout each calendar year
  • Adhering to team exhibition process/design guidelines and maintaining a meticulous archive & record of work through project management
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in museum and/or design studio with broad exposure to spatial design, trade shows or retail pop-ups
  • In-tune with current design trends in exhibition and digital media
  • Strong understanding of built environments and concept of space
  • Communicates with confidence (both written and spoken) and be committed, reliable and capable of working well as a part of a team as well as independently
