Requirements
  • At least 6 years of experience in finance and/or operations, ideally at a venture-backed healthcare or health technology company.
  • Experience working in a high-quality finance or operations team and readiness to build a finance and operations function.
  • Hands-on financial planning and analysis and financial modeling experience, fluency in generally accepted accounting principles, and month-end close experience.
  • Familiarity with health technology unit economics and metrics.
  • Knowledge of SQL or interest in learning to pull and analyze data directly.
  • Ability to work as the only finance person in the room and build systems rather than inherit them.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor while maintaining compliance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • An owner mentality and comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights and recommendations.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a financial thought partner to the chief executive officer, co-founders, and board, and build the models, forecasts, and scenario analyses that drive decisions and fundraising.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, dashboards, and key performance indicator reporting.
  • Partner with clinical, growth, and product leaders to build budgets, evaluate pricing, and measure return on investment.
  • Oversee the external accountant and bookkeeper across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, collections, and compliance, and run month-end close, payroll, and benefits administration through Rippling.
  • Own the revenue cycle management process end to end with the billing partner, from claims submission through denials, eligibility verification, collections, and remittance, and analyze payer economics across geographies and contracts.
  • Own therapist onboarding, offboarding, and enrollment end to end, delegating execution as the team grows.
  • Build standard operating procedures and manage vendors so the company can add clinicians and states without operational breakdowns.
Desired Qualifications
  • Exposure to healthcare revenue cycle, payer contracting, or Medicaid and commercial reimbursement is strongly preferred.
  • An MBA or Certified Public Accountant credential is a plus.
  • Experience leading the financial complexity of scaling a high-growth healthcare business, ideally across multiple states and payers.
  • A track record of working efficiently and effectively cross-functionally.
  • A deep passion for transforming how LGBTQ+ people access affirming, insurance-covered mental health care.

Allswell provides virtual mental health care focused on the LGBTQ+ community, offering identity-centered services through a mix of individual therapy, structured group programs, and digital tools. Therapies use Affirmative CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy, with all therapists belonging to the LGBTQ+ community, holding master’s degrees, and receiving specialized training. The model uses virtual group therapy to lower costs and combat loneliness, and it bills through insurance partnerships (Maryland Medicaid, Cigna, CareFirst BCBS, UnitedHealthcare) while offering private-pay options for others. The goal is to expand access to affirming, evidence-based care by growing the therapist network, expanding to more states, and strengthening its digital offerings.
