Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of systems engineering experience in the space industry, or at least 4 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Deep knowledge of digital and analog electronics design, including mixed-signal and high-speed electronics.
  • Proficiency with Requirements Management Environment tools.
  • Experience with radiation testing, including Total Ionizing Dose and Single Event Effects, and radiation mitigation techniques.
  • Experience integrating firmware and software for embedded microcontrollers and field-programmable gate arrays.
  • A proven track record designing and executing electrical, electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility, thermal vacuum, vibration, and functional test plans.
  • Ability to interpret and apply test data to improve designs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Team leadership and mentorship.
  • United States citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Define and validate architectures for avionics, payload electronics, power-distribution units, and environmental control systems.
  • Produce derived specifications, system-level block diagrams, and test plans.
  • Evaluate and select commercial or radiation-hardened components against mission specifications.
  • Oversee prototype builds, assembly, and production-grade manufacturing.
  • Design and execute system-level electrical, functional, electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility, vibration, and thermal tests.
  • Analyze test data, generate reports, and drive verification efforts.
  • Define and maintain electronic interface control documents and electronic interface documents.
  • Coordinate with hardware, power, software, and mechanical teams to resolve cross-disciplinary interface issues.
  • Produce design specifications, test procedures, and operational manuals.
  • Maintain a living knowledge base for future teams.
  • Translate customer requests into technological solutions and represent SEAKR during unit sell-off and delivery.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with radio-frequency processing system architecture and design, including testing.
  • Experience with space-qualified microprocessor or field-programmable gate array families.
  • Knowledge of system power calculations throughout the space-design cycle.
  • Prior work with space-qualifying standards, including NASA SP-3008, ECSS-E-ST-20C, MIL-STD-1553, and SpaceWire.
