The Sales Factory is a leader in outsourced revenue functions (BDRs/SDRs, AEs, Customer Success, Account Management) committed to driving exceptional results for our clients through innovative sales and revenue strategies and dedicated team efforts. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager who will play a dual role as a player-coach, contributing both individually and through managing a high-performing sales team.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager (Player-Coach) will balance individual sales responsibilities with team leadership, dedicating 30-40% of their time to personal sales activities and 60-70% to managing and coaching a team of 4-5 Account Executives (AEs) and 3-5 Business Development Representatives (BDRs). This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Individual Contribution (30-40%): Actively manage a personal sales pipeline, prospecting, and closing deals. Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to overall team revenue goals. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Team Management (60-70%): Lead, coach, and mentor a team of AEs and BDRs, fostering a high-performance culture.Set and track individual and team sales targets, ensuring consistent achievement of goals. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities. Develop and implement sales strategies and processes to drive team success. Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth. Report on sales performance, forecasts, and KPIs to senior management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coaching role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving team performance.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot, ideally) and G-Suite.
