Requirements
  • Junior and above in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A strong knowledge of computer software applications, large language models and/or data science. Some experience preferable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java. Knowledge of AI/ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or Scikit-learn.
  • Creative mind with some AI knowledge and passion about implementing AI solutions into chemical engineering field.
Responsibilities
  • Perform research on current AI technologies and best practices as it relates to chemical process design to assist the team in staying up to date.
  • Analyze and process large datasets to extract meaningful insights for basic AI/machine learning model development (LLM and generative AI) to test ride and build business case scenarios.
  • Work closely with process engineers to develop AI and software applications for chemical process design efficiency improvements.
  • Contribute ideas and insights during team meetings, offering ways to improvise AI solutions by identifying issues or inaccuracies in the AI systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of AI experiments/methodologies, model development processes, and outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations summarizing the outcomes of AI research or experiments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience of AI model building/development specifically in the chemical engineering field.
  • Capstone or a senior project in AI platforms focused on engineering applications
  • Hands-on knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, R, KNIME), RAG architectures and version control systems (Git, GitHub, etc.).
  • Understand chemical process design procedures
