Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four years of experience in a key leadership role, including applicable experience instructing leadership training
  • One year of adult education and/or training
  • Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree and two years of experience in a key leadership role, including applicable experience instructing leadership training or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Must also have one year of adult education and/or training.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in training various specialty skilled and/or semi-skilled courses within the Infrastructure Training & Safety Institute (ITSI) Leadership program
  • Utilize knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction
  • Perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or provide technical assistance in a specialty area
  • Use a variety of media to present course material
  • Assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner needs
  • Work with the Leadership team and ITSI customers to deliver training in and assist in development of TEEX Leadership courses.

TEEX trains people and organizations to respond to emergencies and protect safety through emergency response, homeland security, and workforce training, plus exercises, technical assistance, and economic development support. It serves about 170,000 people annually across the U.S. and abroad with hands-on, customized courses taught by field experts. The centerpieces are the Brayton Fire Training Field, Disaster City, and the Emergency Operations Training Center, along with facilities for utilities, law enforcement, and ordnance training. Its goal is to improve emergency readiness and workforce capabilities by providing practical training and realistic exercises.
