Wisk’s internship experience is a 12 week, hands-on program. Our goal for our internship program is to see what it’s like to be a full time Wisk employee and complete meaningful work.

We are looking for a Battery Algorithm Engineer intern to join our team for summer 2025. The goal of an Battery Algorithm Engineer intern at Wisk is to ensure that (Wisk Gen 6 aircraft operate the battery efficiently and safely). You will be part of the (Energy Storage and Power Systems (ESPS) team that (is responsible for developing next generation battery modeling and algorithm solution).

Responsibilities:

As part of the (ESPS) organization, you will act as a (Battery Algorithm Engineer Intern) for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
You will take part in (the development of Energy Storage and Power System modeling and algorithm for both offline and online solutions).
You will help support problem solving activities (including battery modeling verification, improvement).
You will take part (Battery management algorithm development, verification and prototyping).

Requirements:

Must be currently pursuing a masters or PhD degree with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2028
Knowledge of battery chemistries such as LFP and NMC
Experience with battery management systems and EV powertrain
Experience with battery modeling including equipment circuit model and physical based model
Experienced with model-based software design and development tools
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or/and C/C++

Hourly rate will be $25 USD an hour.

This internship role will be based at Wisk's office in Mountain View, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.

Must be able to work on-site in Mountain View, CA

You must be legally authorized to work in the US for the duration of Internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins

Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college

Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required

Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins

Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
