  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred.
  • Three years of experience is preferred.
  • A current New York State license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out patient care responsibilities using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care according to BronxCare Health System patient-care and nursing standards.
  • Formulate the initial plan of care with the physician or nurse practitioner and collaborate on a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.
  • Use assignment and delegation principles consistent with the New York State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients within the unit.
  • Diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative care.
  • Maintain safe levels of care while adhering to the medical regimen.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure that goal-oriented care plans are consistent with the medical regimen and hospital procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as instructed.
