Requirements
- Minimum 10 years in Property Claims with at least 5 years of people management experience
- Must have some exposure to managing large loss, complex claims
- High level of understanding of homeowners claims litigation exposure for 1st party claims
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing a team of professional staff
- Track record of delivering innovation
- Staffing and forecasting experience
- Bachelor's Degree required or significant equivalent and Masters preferred
- AIC or equivalent Claims Certifications/Designations preferred
- Property claims management background is required
- Flexible and willing to do what is needed to get great work done
- A natural inclination to work within a culture that is fast-paced and dynamic
- Texas adjusters license or equivalent
- Expert understanding of claims processes, policy language and investigating all manner of homeowners claims
- Must be self-motivated and directed; ability to collaborate is a must, but you will be autonomous and expected to succeed without heavy direction
- Superb phone skills and quality customer experience
- Adept at using Microsoft products such as Excel; experience with SQL or analytics software a plus
Responsibilities
- Employing a data-driven approach, drive towards a high performing team that delivers on the Hippo value proposition and industry leading customer experience
- Work with Sr leadership, executives and peers to create and implement best practices, and optimal processes
- Focus on leveraging technology to innovate the Claims function
- Develop and manage strong partnerships with other departments; Underwriting, Sales and Customer Support
- Participate in multiple projects to include, improving our subrogation process and working closely with our SIU and litigation teams
- Partner with our tech team on system enhancements on an as needed basis
- Managing change in an ever-evolving environment
- Maintain a focus on deliver an industry leading customer experience
- Ensure that claims teams are operating in compliance with state regulations, contractual compliance with fronting carriers and reinsurers as well as industry best practices
- Communicate and collaborate with Claims Counsel on a variety of issues and as needed
- Participate in special projects and initiatives that align with the overall company and department goals
- Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility
