- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required; structural coursework is required for structural-focused roles.
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- At least 6 years of relevant industrial civil/structural engineering experience is required.
- Experience supporting process, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of the International Building Code, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and related standards is required.
- Experience using civil/structural analysis software and interpreting results is required.
- Knowledge of industrial foundations, framing systems, and structural materials is required.
- Ability to develop construction specifications and estimate engineering hours, material quantities, and construction costs is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Perform complete civil and structural engineering design for complex industrial projects.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis under general supervision.
- Serve as Engineer of Record where professional engineering certification is required.
- Develop conceptual layouts, structural framing concepts, and cost studies.
- Develop estimate-level and detailed designs, calculations, and material take-offs.
- Produce calculations and sketches suitable for checking, drafting, and client deliverables.
- Ensure designs emphasize constructability, efficiency, and client expectations.
- Review and check calculations, drawings, and vendor documentation for accuracy and code compliance.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Support procurement through scopes, specifications, and bid packages.
- Review fabrication drawings and construction submittals.
- Perform fieldwork as needed, including tie-ins and construction support.
- Lead civil/structural efforts on projects ranging from small to large, ensuring execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Support interoffice execution and virtual project teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to lead teams and deliver on commitments.
- Ability to lead interoffice and virtual teams effectively.
