Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be graduates of a Medical Assistant program or have one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the hire date.
  • The position requires the ability to use and care for equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
  • The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • The position requires the ability to adapt to changing environments, work independently and in a team setting, and organize and prioritize work.
  • The position requires the ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • The position requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, rotate normally, and stand and walk during an 8-12 hour shift.
  • The position requires working closely with others, protracted or irregular hours, biohazards, infectious diseases, and hands in water.
  • The position may require travel between facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, obtain initial information and vital signs, and prepare patients for physician visits.
  • Prepare examination rooms, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
  • Assist with or perform examinations, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality-control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Perform office administrative tasks including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, depositing cash, and other closing duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework is preferred.
  • One year of healthcare experience is preferred.
