Requirements
  • At least 4 years of hands-on anti-money laundering and know-your-customer experience, including practical knowledge of global KYC and AML frameworks, entity structures, KYC refreshes, and due diligence requests across regulatory regimes.
  • Experience in corporate banking, legal services, or fund compliance environments, including exposure to offshore jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg.
  • Ability to handle complex situations autonomously, apply appropriate compliance frameworks, and escalate matters strategically.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in client-facing correspondence and internal collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Own complex know-your-customer engagements end to end, managing requests from intake through delivery and serving as the point of contact for counterparties and investors.
  • Lead by example in accuracy and regulatory rigor, contribute to team processes and documentation standards, and help junior analysts develop judgment on complex entity structures and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and validate KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with AML, KYC, and applicable international frameworks across European Union, United Kingdom, and United States regulatory regimes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of KYC requests and documentation in Carta's systems, resolve issues independently where appropriate, and escalate matters to senior leadership when necessary.
  • Monitor evolving KYC and AML regulations globally, apply updated requirements to daily work, and share regulatory insights with the broader team.
  • Support junior analysts by explaining reasoning and helping them develop their judgment.
  • Take initiative to improve processes and contribute to team knowledge.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience using artificial intelligence tools or technology-driven workflows in a compliance or legal context.
  • Prior experience in financial or legal services, such as a law firm, legal services provider, fund administrator, or the compliance or legal department of a financial institution or asset manager.
  • Familiarity with KYC documentation packs, AML comfort letters, or ultimate beneficial owner declarations.
  • Knowledge of private markets structures, including fund formations, general partner/limited partner relationships, and offshore holding structures.
  • Prior exposure to United States Financial Crimes Enforcement Network anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism regulatory frameworks.
  • Anti-money laundering or know-your-customer certifications such as ICA or ACAMS.

Carta Law adds 4 senior leaders across US and Europe to support 200+ asset managers

Carta Law, the AI-native law firm for private capital, has appointed four senior leaders across its US and European operations. Noah Levine joins as Legal Director for North American Compliance, whilst Karin Porstendörfer becomes Compliance Director and Head of Inbound KYC in Luxembourg. The firm has also promoted Chrystel Marincich to Managing Director for Contracts Americas and Kenneth Howe to Managing Director for Contracts Europe and APAC. Both joined Carta Law two and a half years ago from private practice. The appointments support Carta Law's client base of over 200 asset managers, including 30% of the world's largest funds. The firm launched in May 2026 following Carta's acquisition of Avantia.
