Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Roadway/Highway design engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Assist in building the roadway team in Central Illinois.
  • Lead the team to produce high quality deliverables on roadway projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level engineers and other team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment among the team.
  • Serve as a project manager for roadway/highway design projects, overseeing and participating in project execution from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Perform quality checks on work performed by project team members.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects.
  • Prepare project documents, design, conduct analyses, interpret data, and plan and coordinate the engineering work to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings and specifications.
  • Serve as a technical expert in this discipline.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of service, communication, and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and assist with business development.
  • Prepare proposals and/or funding applications.
