  • Significant experience in a national news environment, including executive experience as a desk head, or significant managerial experience in a news environment

Responsibilities
  • Budget management: set budgets in conjunction with other management executives and ensure that they are kept to
  • Lead on regulatory issues including liaison with Ipso, compliance, pre and post publication advice and complaints handling
  • HR: lead on personnel issues. Work with HR to manage personnel matters and ensure the smooth running of i editorial
  • Oversee recruitment, working with senior executives and section heads to lead talent identification, hiring and retention across all departments
  • Digital transformation: work with senior executives to help drive the wider transformation of the newsroom to support business subscription goals
