DEA requires the services of a contractor to perform a task for DEA and the Office of Investigative Technology. The task is to provide technical expertise to DEA Special Agent staff in the conduct of all digital technology related investigations.

Executive Protection Systems, LLC is seeking a Systems Administrator in Lorton, VA. The objective of this work is to provide essential technical expertise and support to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Office of Investigative Technology. The rapid evolution in digital communications and internet services and the simultaneous widespread use of these technologies worldwide has required DEA to evolve its investigative resources to follow these trends.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Installation, configuration and maintenance of operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of technical and programmatic processing requirements.
• Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedules installations, upgrades and maintenance in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Ensures workstation and server security and data integrity by evaluating and implementing software and hardware solutions.
• Ensures data recoverability by regular system backups and database archive operations, including offsite storage and retrieval services.
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established policies.
• Knowledge of current operating systems, software, workstations and servers; and their operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with latest IT security policies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Public Trust and the ability to pass the DEA’s suitability background investigation.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline OR an AA Degree with 2 years’ experience or 6 years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• A minimum 2 years of design and management of non-complex telecommunication and local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs) using similar software and hardware as those described in client requirements.
