Deno is founded by the same engineers who built Node.js, the JavaScript runtime used by millions of developers and used by nearly all websites in one form or another. About the role

As a Founding Product Manager at Deno, you will be at the forefront of a technology that is redefining the way developers write and run code. You will have the opportunity to help define and execute on our product strategy and roadmap. A key part of this will include “owning the problems” of our users based on a deep understanding of their needs, and then partnering with our design and engineering teams to iterate on solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling SaaS and / or hosting solutions, be a creative problem solver, and have a passion for creating products that improve the lives of developers. 

Responsibilities

• Understand the developer community and market trends to inform product direction and identify new opportunities

• Drive the product development process from ideation to launch, working with engineering to ensure timely delivery and high-quality releases

• Conduct market and user research to validate product ideas and inform feature prioritization

• Develop and refine detailed user personas that accurately represent the needs, goals and behaviors of Deno’s target users

• Define and monitor key product metrics, using data to drive product decisions and measure success

• Communicate product plans and progress to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, sales, and support teams

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product management with a track record of delivering successful SaaS and/or hosting solutions

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field

• Deep understanding of the developer community and trends in developer tools

• Experience in conducting market and user research to validate product ideas and inform product direction

• Proven ability to collaborate with designers, engineers, marketers, and sales teams to deliver high-quality products on time

• Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive product decisions and measure success

Process

• Once you’ve submitted your application, the team will review your submission and reach out for a screening interview over video call. If you pass this screen, you will be invited to up to four follow up interviews. These calls usually take between 30-60 minutes each depending on the interviewer. Once the interviews are over, our hiring team will meet to discuss several roles and candidates. We may ask one or two follow-up questions over email or have a quick call before making an offer.
