What believers are saying

  • Classic Throttle Shop's Sydney heritage-listed showroom reinforces brand credibility and pricing power.
  • Duttons expanded to BYD in 2026, adding electric and utility customer segments.
  • Sojitz ownership since 2023 supports acquisition capital, procurement leverage, and cross-border sourcing.

What critics are saying

  • Used-car margins compress fast if premium demand softens before 2027.
  • Dutton depends on collectible-car liquidity; stalled auctions trap capital and inventory.
  • Sojitz concentration creates existential risk if Tokyo reprioritizes capital away from Australia.

What makes Dutton Group unique

  • Australasia's largest classic car showroom, Classic Throttle Shop, concentrates rare collector inventory.
  • Dutton One runs 15 premium dealerships across five Australian jurisdictions.
  • Sojitz bought Albert Automotive Holdings in May 2023, funding expansion and inventory access.
