Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or higher in education, administration, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the Director’s calendar, schedule meetings, and organize appointments.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact between the Director, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications, providing information and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for meetings and conferences.
  • Support the implementation of special education programs and services.
  • Coordinate and organize professional development opportunities for special education staff.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other special education plans.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data related to student performance, program effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reviews.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special projects and initiatives led by the Director.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring goals are met.
  • Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
  • Provide resources and information to special education staff and parents as needed.
  • Assist in organizing parent meetings, workshops, and informational sessions.
  • Address and resolve issues or concerns raised by staff or parents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
