Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in engineering systems or data management, including at least 4–5 years working directly with SmartPlant Foundation (SPF).
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
  • Familiarity with SP3D, SPI, SPEL, SPPID, and their publish/retrieve processes.
  • Working knowledge of SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) platform and its integration with SmartPlant tools.
  • Understanding of SPF schema, user interface configuration, and basic customization.
  • Hands-on experience with data loading, mapping, and validation.
  • In-depth knowledge of SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) administration, configuration, and customization.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and configure project environments, manage user roles, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Support the administration and day-to-day operations of Smart Plant Foundation (SPF), ensuring stability, accuracy, and availability of engineering data.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining project and as-built environments within SPF.
  • Perform data loading, cleansing, validation, and extraction activities using SPF and associated tools.
  • Conduct publishing and retrieve operations for SmartPlant tools such as SP3D, SPI, SPEL, and SPPID.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines to support tag, document, and object management in SPF.
  • Develop and maintain SPF schema extensions, rule sets, UI configurations, and APIs in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Assist in the integration of SmartPlant authoring tools with SPF and troubleshoot interface/data exchange issues.
  • Troubleshoot publish issues from authoring tools and ensure smooth data flow and synchronization.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, IT, Document Control, and Information Management teams to support seamless workflows and data exchange.
  • Integrate SPF with Smart Plant design tools like SP3D, SPI, SPPID, SPEL, and other third-party applications.
  • Configure and maintain SPF web portal, SDF features, workflows, tags, and document-to-tag associations.
  • Customize and configure standard and custom reports, including setup of publish/retrieve mappings.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and client data standards, security protocols, and digital handover requirements.
  • Contribute to project digital delivery and digital twin data preparation under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Provide technical support, end-user training, and documentation.
  • Liaise with Hexagon, EPCs, and OEMs for issue resolution, updates, and system optimization.
  • Support the customization and management of SPF schemas, forms, and reports.
  • Ensure engineering data is aligned with project metadata standards and data handover requirements.
  • Track and resolve system and data issues by coordinating with IT, engineering teams, and tool vendors (Hexagon).
  • Provide end-user support and training for SPF usage, workflows, and data publishing.
  • Generate reports and dashboards for project data status, completeness, and quality checks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or EPC projects is preferred.
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server, XML, and basic scripting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of .NET, XML, and API customization is desirable.
  • Understanding of Oracle/MS SQL database environments.
  • ADNOC, ARAMCO, Shell etc. OOs experience is preferred.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Hexagon Certified SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) Administrator.
