As climate change amplifies the intensity of wildfires—with longer fire seasons, dryer fuels, and faster winds—new ignitions spread faster and put more communities at risk. Today, most wildfires are detected by bystanders and reported via 911, meaning it can take hours to detect a fire, verify its exact location and size, and dispatch first responders. Fire authorities need a faster way to detect, confirm, and pinpoint fires so that they can quickly respond—preventing small flare-ups from becoming devastating infernos.

About Pano: Pano is a venture-backed early-stage climate tech startup that is the leader in wildfire early detection, leveraging the latest advancements in IoT, AI, satellites, and SaaS software to deliver actionable intelligence to customers. The Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Generation/Business Development Intern to join our Pano Sales team. Reporting to the VP of Sales, this internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development, master the intricacies of lead generation, and contribute to our company’s growth while working at a startup focused on addressing a meaningful and urgent problem.

What you’ll do

Conduct market research to identify potential leads and target markets
Use various tools and platforms to generate high-quality leads
Assist in developing and executing lead-generation strategies
Qualify leads through outreach methods such as email, phone calls, and social media.
Maintain and update the CRM system with lead information and interactions.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth handover of leads
Support the creation of business development materials, including presentations and proposals
Track and analyze lead generation metrics to refine strategies and improve results
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance lead-generation efforts

What you’ll bring

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Previous internship or work experience in sales or marketing doing lead generation or business development
Experience with lead generation tools and techniques
Strong interest in sales, marketing, and business development
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learnAbility to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
